It really came to no suprise to me that Sonic the Hedgehog will be a playable character in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Nintendo Wii. Of course, moments after the SmashBros. website put up the confirming post (at the very early hour of 2:00 am) the internet was filled with the "OMG" "!!!!" and "I can't believe it's real this time":s. It isn't really that hard to believe. For one, Brawl was already including one 3rd party character, Solid Snake; plus, with the collective pleding from fanboys and girls across the globe, Nintendo would have had to be complete morons to not include Sonic. I personally would have waited until the very last moment to announce his inclusion, making gamers believe that he truly wasn't going to be in the game then really suprise them.
To everyone who is waiting to Tails, Knuckles, and other Sonic characters, you may be rather disappointed. With Brawl's new item, the Assist Trophy, Nintendo can weasle themselves out of putting too many playable characters by making lots of characters into these odd items and use them as if they were pokeball. I doubt they won't release at least one other character from Sonic, but I'm fairly confident that you'll see Robotnik as an Assist Trophy.
With that and all the other information that been released about Brawl, waiting for the game to be released is becoming painful (So is finding a Wii from what I heard).
